Rev. Geevarghese Kochummen
Rev. Geevarghese Kochummen was born in Kundara, Kerala, India, and his home parish is Christos Mar Thoma Church in Karipurram. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Theology from Bangalore and his B.D. from the Kottayam Seminary. He was ordained as a priest in the Mar Thoma Church on June 27, 1995.
Rev. Kochummen has ministered at various locations, including Thekkady MTC, Kummali MTC, Angamaly MTC, Perunad MTC, Emmanuel MTC in Pune, St. Stephens MTC in New Jersey, Colorado Horeb MTC, and Phoenix MTC. He founded Mar Thoma Central School in Varkala and served as the principal and manager of IMTC School in Pune. Additionally, he was the Director of Jyothis Special School in Mavelikkara.
Kochummen Achen has also served as Sabha Council member and Diocesan Council member in the Mumbai Diocese, Trivandrum-Kollam Diocese, and Chengannur-Mavelikara Diocese. He has also worked as the convenor of the Mumbai Diocese Convention and served on numerous committees within the Sabha and Dioceses.
He is married to Mrs. Mini Kunjukunju. Mini Kochamma’s home parish is Immanuel Mar Thoma Church in Chengamanad. The couple is blessed with two sons, Abel and Josh.
Rev.Arun Samuel Varghese
Rev.Arun Samuel Varghese was our vicar from 2019-2023. Achen was born in Dubai and brought up in Dallas, TX. His parents are Varghese T. John and Elizabeth John, and their family are members of MTC Dallas, Farmers Branch. Achen did graduate studies in Telecommunications Engineering before taking up God’s call for ordained ministry. Achen spent the last 7 years in India for theological and ministerial training in the Mar Thoma Church. He obtained his Bachelors of Divinity from the Mar Thoma Theological Seminary, Kottayam and was ordained as priest in July 2017. From 2017-2019 Achen served as Assistant Vicar of Kattanam St. Thomas MTC. Achen is married to Sharon Mariam Mathew, from Bahrain Mar Thoma Church.
Rev. Dennis Abraham
Rev. Dennis Abraham was our vicar for about a year in 2018-2019. During his tenure he was also the vicar of the San Francisco Mar Thoma Church. Achen was the Youth Chaplain of the South East Region of the Diocese of North America and Europe of the Mar Thoma Church. Achen was born and brought up in New York, and a member of St. John’s Mar Thoma Church, New York. He completed his B.A. in Psychology, and took his Bachelor’s of Divinity at Mar Thoma Theological Seminary, Kottayam.
Rev. Liju John
Rev. Liju John was our vicar for a few months in 2018. His home town is Adoor. He is the son of John Philip and Lizy John. Achen has completed his BSc (Chem) from M.G University, Catholicate College, Pathanmthitta and his BD Degree from Senate of Serampore, Mar Thoma Theological Seminary, Kottayam.
Rev. Binu P. Thomas
Rev. Binu P.Thomas was our vicar for a year. He completed his Bachelor of Divinity from Serampore College in Calcutta, West Bengal, India and further his MBA. He has also served the parishes in Sirsi, Hangal, Udaipur, Bhilwara, Moothedam, Thamarassery and Puthppady.
Rev. Larry Varghese
Rev. Larry Varghese was our first full-time Vicar. Achen provided a strong Bible based foundation to a young church. He has a Bachelor of Divinity from Mar Thoma Theological Seminary – Kottayam. Achen also has a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas – Austin, and did post graduate studies in Electrical Engineering at the University of Houston
Rev. Thomas John
Rev. Thomas John shepherded the transition from the prayer fellowship to a congregation and to a church during his tenure. Achen had in the past served as travelling secretary of the Mar Thoma Evangelistic association. We were fortunate to celebrate his 25th year of priesthood during his tenure.
