Vicar's Message

Dearly Beloved in Christ,

We are in the 10th month of the year, drawing close to a new one. The Creator has permitted the crown of creation, for the word of God states, "You can’t do anything without me."

Let this be a month of self-criticism and analysis to assess how close we are to God. Engaging with the word of God will help us evaluate our proximity to Him.

Compromising with God achieves nothing in nurturing a close relationship, as there is no such procedure on His side. Instead, we must face confrontation and yield before Him. Confession is an inevitable part of this process. It’s not merely a nominal act but a personal journey that brings us closer to God, the Redeemer.

True confession will purify our hearts daily, allowing sanctification to occur, making us eligible to enter the Kingdom of God. A person's usefulness is determined by this act, guided by the Holy Spirit. This must not be confused with the material achievements of a self-centered individual but should align with being a Christ-centered person.

True confession is a sacrament of reconciliation with both God and humans. It’s invariably two-sided. A sincere confession fosters a profound relationship with God, fellow beings, and the rest of creation. This month, we have many church activities; our gospel convention is the most significant, designed for our true confession, leading to the purification and sanctification of our church family.

May God strengthen all our first communicant children to come closer to God the Creator by receiving three sacraments together: confirmation, confession, and communion. Let’s strive to be robust role models for them so that they may grow in the Lord and glorify God’s name. May God bless all our activities this month and use us as mighty instruments.

With much love and prayers

Lovingly,
Kochummen Achen
