Youth Fellowship

"Six feet socially distanced rope - youth meeting" 😉 Youths met at the home of Mahyini and Timothy on April 29th for their monthly fellowship meeting. Joshi John led the discussion. The May Youth Fellowship was held at Jaidon and Joana's home.

Larry Achen Visit & Mother's Day

Horeb's former vicar, Rev. Larry Varghese, Roshin kochamma, Chloe and Eli joined us for service on Sunday, May 8th. Larry Achen is currently pursuing his Master's degree in Theological Studies at Emory University's Candler School of Theology in Atlanta. Horeb moms assisted during the service with special litury and Bible readings. Youth members also handed out special gifts for children to give to their moms and there was also a Mom's Day slideshow which was organized by Kripa George, Ruth Simon, and Ruth Jacob.

Mary's Kitchen Outreach

Sevika Sangham members preparing meals for Mary's Kitchen, a non-profit food and service center for the homeless in the city of Orange. It was founded by 82 year old Mary McAnena in 1984, who found her calling when she was helping the homeless at a park in Orange. Mary's Kitchen was created and moved to its current location 10 years later. Unfortunately Mary's Kitchen is being forced to move by June 10th and is struggling to find a new location to continue its outreach to serve the homeless that it has done for almost 30 years.

Department of Sacred Music & Communications (DSMC) Sunday

A special order of service was held on DSMC Sunday, May 22 at Horeb. Choir members assisted with the liturgy, read lessons and Mrs. Sinee Abraham gave the message based on Colossians 3:16. Arun Achen held a dedication prayer for the choir. Horeb’s choir is led by Mr. George Varghese (Aji). The Department of Sacred Music & Communications is vital part of the Mar Thoma Church and has been instrumental in encouraging the growth of the choir in the Mar Thoma Church. Dr Alexander Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan was the visionary and founder President of DSMC, and Rev. K. P. Philip, the First Director.
